What are the best weapons [blades] that could be used in a story?

The characters hunt supernatural creatures in this story that I am writing e.g. demons. I am researching on daggers/blades and asking for people's opinions so that I can create a new type -figuratively- for the story. Any ideas? Opinions? Thanks :)
