Should the Book of Revelation be taken literally as a prophecy of things to come, or figuratively, as ...?

It is a fallacy to assume everything written is true without evidence to support that assumption. There is not any proof John wrote it, who did is a mystery--many claimed to write stories in the names of the disciples and apostles. It is the writing of a vision, a dream, and a vivid imagination.
